The roots of espionage run deep alongside military pursuits, with the two linked as far back as Sun-Tzu’s
The Art of War, written in the 5th century BC. While modern tactics and official government intelligence
agencies were only established in the late 19th century, deception, subversion, intelligence and counter
intelligence have long laid the groundwork for the illustrious world of spies, secret agents, double
agents, and handlers.
Here at Safehouse Milwaukee and the Newsroom Pub, our respect for those in military is no secret. Partnering
with Being There-Reaching Out, a non-profit organization formed to support Wisconsin families of fallen
military, we are honored to bring you the Wall of Fallen Heroes. Each of the soldiers depicted on here
has given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom, and for that, we will be forever grateful.
